It is no longer an option to sit idlely by and let this happen. Our elected officals were voted into office by the voters and they should be accountable for their actions by the voters. If they can not be, it's time to get them out of office and put someone in there that won't backslide once they are there.

I am a Registered Nurse at on of El Paso's finest hospitals. Every day I pass by several cars in our ER's parking lot that have Chihuahua, Mexico license plates. Many of these folks come here to get the outstanding healthcare we provide and then return to Mexico never to pay us one thin dime. My hospital depends on the reimbursments from Medicare and private insurances to keep in business. Therefore, these illegals steal money out of my pocket.

Also, I see dozens of Mexican plates in the parking lot of my children's public schools. We have a higher than average property tax here in El Paso to pay for our high quality schools. These illegals are taking advantage of my hard work and my tax dollars in order to send their kids (who can't even speak English) to OUR public schools.

I am in no way bigoted toward Mexicans. My wife legally emmigrated here, learned the language, and became a US citizen. Why can't others follow her example?

I agree, securing our borders needs to be worked at the highest levels and our Executive and Legislative branches are not doing their duties.

Our great forefathers saw a problem like this and set up guidelines to be followed when an invasion is ongoing. It's a shame that our government can't recogize the fact!

It is past time to secure our borders.

Illegal is against the law, I don't care what color you put on it. I don't care if it comes from Mexico or China. If you break the law to come in, why keeps them from breaking all of our other laws?

A laser would do the job of securing our borders, both north and south. It is available - - it works. If they KNOW it is there they wont come. At least not above ground!. And we have smoked out "rats" in RVN. We could do it here as well.

We need a border fence that will keep illegals OUT. I know people say you can't build a fence that is 100% secure ... I used to work in areas that were 100% secure - "Weapon Storage Areas" while I served in the Air Force. Not only that, but rest assured the fence between East and West Germany was secure. If it comes to it, we need to defend our borders WITH LETHAL FORCE.

The politicans that have been elected by the people of this country have failed us. The only reason they want to let amnesty be allowed is votes. Seems the security of our borders and our country has been placed on the back burner. The same politicans that voted to send our men and women into harms way are now touting another "cut and run policy". Seems they forget that in Washington DC there is a memorial with over 58,400 names on it. This memorial was just not a memorial to our fallen brothers and sisters, it was also intened to show what happens as a result of sending men and women into battle and completeing the job. Once again "Good soliders, gutless politicans".

I am from a small county in the piedmont of North Carolina. I have watched the industrial base in my county be replaced from American full time workers to Hispanic (Mostly Illegal)working under contract with temp agencies. A "New" employer received some kickbacks from the county to set up shop. The employer promised it would bring 300 new jobs to the area. They did as promised, except that they filled 225 of those jobs with hispanics that brag about their not being legal and mock the American employees for being suckers. Im sick of the fact that Illegals can buy land, cars, get public assistance, and take our jobs. Ive been to war and I didnt fight for Mexico.

Not everyone in my family unit was born in this great nation but like others who came before they came to this nation to build a better life and to participate in it as first and legal permanent resident and later as a naturalized citizen. They came here the right way as all who want to come here should. They did not break US laws nor come to this country to “get rich” or to use its public recourses without putting in to the system or giving back.

They like me believe that illegal aliens are no better then parasites, just like the worm you find in an apple that destroy it from the inside out. Just like aphids that suck a plant of its life, just like a tick who feed off a host leaving only pestilence and disease.

I am a proud American and an Army Veteran. I love my flag and what it stands for. I am also hispanic from So America, who came legally to seek the American dream. But my first loyalty is to my country, USA. I want the borders protected, because California will turn into another mexican state. The mexicans are multiplying, each woman normally has an average of 5 kids. And who pays for them starting from delivery?. The American tax payer, and yet they hate the gringo.

I don't want a neighbor that wears baggy oversized shorts and tee shirt with matching long white socks, with a shaven head and tatoos all over, whom nowadays you will find working at Wal-mart.

I am not a racist, but I like the old America when I was the minority and phone books and owners manual came only in English.

I did NOT fight and leave parts of my body in a foreign country protecting this country so that ILLEGAL aliens could FLOOD into it. I am going to serve my country once more and will be moving to the border to try and stop what is happening now. This country is of the people for the people by the people! I call on all veterans who are able to to go to our southern border and once agian serve your country. Our active duty, national guard and reserve troops are being sent to Iraq (which I think is wrong) and this leaves NO troops to protect our borders so we the veterans who have been trained should step up and give our all to stop the BLANTANT disreguard of our laws!!! I feel sorry for my latin brothers and sisters but this must be STOPPED NOW. We can not depend on our leaders to do the right thing because we all know that for the most part they have thier heads in the sand and will not take a stand and say ENOUGH is ENOUGH!!! I am all for LEGAL immigration. Come on my fellow veterans let us go to the border and take a stand. We don't need guns, we just need to stand shoulder to shoulder. HOO-RAH!!!
